CLINICS
Antenatal Clinic
This is held on Thursday mornings and will usually be run by Dr Jeanne
McKenzie and the community midwives. To obtain an appointment, contact
our staff at reception.
Immunisation Clinic
This will be held on Wednesday morning by appointment. Every child is
seen by a doctor prior to the actual immunisation, which is done by the
health visitor. The programme is arranged by computer and an appointment
sent out but you can attend any clinic if the date is not convenient.
Baby Clinic
Baby clinics are held on Wednesday between 11.30am and 1.00pm.
Cervical Smears
These will be carried out by the practice nurse as part of a well woman
service. Every woman between the ages of 20 and 60 years will be sent
an appointment by computer and recalled usually every three years.
Diabetic Patients
Most diabetic patients whose condition is treated with tablets and diet
will be reviewed at regular intervals by the doctors. Insulin-dependent
patients will usually attend the hospital clinics but may see us at any
time about any problem.
Other Facilities
Other facilities available are radiography (x-rays), physiotherapy and
treatment room nursing. Chiropody and dental treatment is provided free
of charge for children and the elderly.
Hospital Referrals
Outpatient clinics dealing with most specialities are held at Strathclyde
Hospital, Monklands Hospital and Wishaw General Hospital.
Emergency admissions are usually taken by Wishaw General or Monklands
Hospitals.
